Baker’s Master of Arts in Education (MAEd) degree is a 36-credit hour degree program designed to develop exemplary educational leaders in PreK-12 classrooms. Along with an emphasis on application in the classroom, the program combines the necessary knowledge base with opportunities for personal and professional growth, preparing teachers to meet today’s challenges in the teaching profession.

The MAEd program objectives are closely aligned with the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS). Course content and assessments focus on the indicators of these standards. The MAEd program objectives are listed below. The Indicators of these standards are found in the MSSL and MAEd Policy and Procedures Handbook a student receives with entry into the MAEd program.

Accelerated Classes – Our graduate education programs are designed to work with your existing schedule and lifestyle. Classes meet one night each week or on Saturday mornings during the school year and either during the day or in the evening for 6 or 7 weeks during the summer.

Apply and Start Anytime – Our classes are held year round with new classes starting every 6 or 7 weeks. Start a program at any time during the year and take classes at your own pace.

Applicable Courses – Our graduates consistently report that the knowledge they gain in class is immediately transferable to their daily professional lives.

Cohort Option – Our MAEd is also available in a cohort format for students who live a significant distance from one of our campuses.

If you join a cohort group, you will meet at a local facility one night each week for the duration of the program. Contact Baker to find a cohort forming in your area.
